Long awaited news! Pre-view for the second wave!

Hello all together,

here are the long awaited news: The preview for the new miniature wave! Paul has just send me the pictures of the new greens (or greys) and I felt in love (again).

Around X-Mas, I will also recieve an animal which is a must have with one of th following blisters... It is not sculpted by the talented multi-armed-Paul-Hicks but by another well-known sculptor - now guess who it is!

So when I have the last part for this wave, they will be send to Griffin Moulds for beeing cast. I expect the release in late January to Mid-February.

But now to the pictures!

The first of our new set is a character set including no one else then Götz von Berlichingen, Kaiser Maximilian I and Frundsberg.

Götz von Berlichingen became famous in the Swabian-Pesant-War (1525) where he led the peasants to (not so) glourious deeds and became a prisoner after the war was fought. His judgment became his doom and he had to stay at his castle in southern Germany.

Kaiser Maximilian I, emperor of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation described his self as the supporter of the Landsknechts. Actually, I doubt that he fought within the pike-blocks but I can really imagining a Kaiser in his best armour watching his soldiers fighting. This miniature represents the emperor in his mid-years - more variations will follow.

Georg von Frundsberg is the most famous maneuverer and a knight of the early 16th century. He became popular in the Italian wars especially in the battle of Pavia (1525). He got the nickname of "father of Landsknechts" by his soldiers and historicans.

The second blister is a hunting party. Hunting was practiced by noblemen or knights in their sparetime. Mostly arranged in big groups with many dogs, the nobles walked out and had their fun on their own ways.

One of the minaiture is loading his crossbow, while one nobleman tries to keep his dog on a leash. The last hunter has a falcon on his hand and a hunting-boar-spear in his right.

There are two new peasant packs. The first one represents a young farmer family.

The dad walks out to the fields and harvest home. He is dressed in a typical peasant-dress which was normally tinted with earthy-pastel colours. His wife carries a heavy yoke, on its ends probably water buckets. The other rigorous old lady is probably his mother which will help where ever she can. Work like keeping the herd together or flailing was commonly done by elder or children.
And while we are talking about children, the blister also includes a small and young girl who preffered to collect the flowers in her apron instead of the mushrooms.

The second peasant pack could also be used in a city or in a castle. It represents a dancing party of musician with bagpipes and a woman with a dapper. And yes, in this set the animal will be included.

The last pack (and a real Landsknecht release) represents three soldiers, gambling away their pay. Scenes like this are often illustrated in old books or on pictures and where part of the daily Landskencht life.

New Flags, and old ones back in stock!

Hello all together,

quite a long time has passed since I have posted anything. Anway, we now have 8 new Swiss flags, representing most of their cantons. All are priced at 2,20€ each, and I will soon at them to our catalogue.

I had to turn down the colour for the catalogue pictures, so nobody copies them and print them out for own purpose. I also have a lettering over the picturs - of course it is not on the final banner, but you get richer colours (see picture below).

I planned more civilians and some personalities as well as some Landsknechts. The sculptor told me that he is currently working on them so expect some pictures soon.

LC 02 - Countryside: This set includes a hunter with his lovely huntingdog (hound from eBob), a lumberjack marching out to cut some wood and a peasant with his typical sword and a basket full of goods.

LC 03 - Citylife I: This blisters includes a Landsknecht guard sleeping on duty, a harold with important news, a smith with the newest armour he has done and a woman with a broom, sweeping away the dust in the yard.

LC 04 - Citylife II: This set includes one woman with a pot in her hand, a young girl with a newborn, a shoetrader with his stuff on a stick and an unarmoured Landsknecht thinking about if he should spend his money on new shoes.

Pre-View: Renaissance Civilians

Hello all together,

as I mentioned yesterday, I got the new greens (or greys?) from Paul Hicks on the 16th of April at Salute. And I am sure you will agree that he has done a wonderful job on them! It was my highlight of Salute to get the new civilians in my hand.

The miniatures will be send to Griffin moulds tomorrow and I will get a huge stock from them.
I have taken some pictures with the miniature including the final codes and blister names. Each blister will cost 5,95€ (around £5,20 or 8,50$). Command sets, civilians and other small-needed-amount miniatures will be a bit more expensive. For core infantry I will try to keep the price as low as possible.

Once I get the message from Griffin that the moulds and castings are finish you can pre-order these lovely miniatures.

But now up to the pictures.

Renaissance Civilians - First step

Hello all together,

as I mentioned before, Mr hicks is sculpting the civilians at the moment and I will have a look at them at Salute (16th of April) and will make some snapshots before they will hit the post and go directly to griffin moulds where they get their moulds and I get my castings (surprise!).

So I think I will have them around the end of April. The lists for the civil blisters are:

Citylife I: a Woman with a pot, a Woman with a broom, a Smith, a Guard
Citylife II: a Shoetrader, a Man with a shoe, a Herald, a Woman with kid
Countryside: a Hunter with a dog, a Lumberjack, a Peasant

28mm Landsknecht Flags released!

Hello all together,

I finnaly received the flags. And they are wonderful. That you will get a better impression, I scanned them but this falsed the colours abit. To get a better colour impression follow this link: Click me! They are not as bright as shown. Anyway, you will see the size of the flags and the price.

Postage:
Germany: 1,50€
Europe: 2,20€
Rest of the world: 3,50€

How to use: The flags are attached to a paper sheet to facilitate the printing process, after the flag has been cut from the sheet this can be peeled off. For best results fold the flag in half first, then peel half the flag from the paper backing. Cut the paper backing along the fold and glue the loose part of the flag to the remaining half. This gives a flag that's not too thick that can be folded into any shape, however don't be tempted to pull any loose threads until the glue has dried, these can be snipped off later.

Alternatively after cutting the flag from the sheet and folding it in half first peel it from the backing paper (if it curls you can iron it flat on the unprinted side) apply glue to half the flag add the pole and fit together; this can be fiddly but gives could results. Shape and again don't be tempted to pull any loose threads, use a sharp pair of scissors to snip these off when the glue has dried.

Finally snip away any loose threads with a sharp pair of scissors (be careful not to cut yourself ) and paint round the edge ofthe flag to hide any white, then highlight the part of the flag that wraps round the pole to give a professional finish.

LF 01 -Burgundian cross - The sign that were painted on most Landsknecht flags. (Represents the sign of Burgundy. The German emperor overtake this heraldry after the marriage between him and the Burgundian lady) 2€

LF 02 - Andreas Kreuz - As above. 2,20€

LF 03 - Double headed Eagle - Sign of the holy roman Empire. (Some historians say that it represents the emperor and the pope) 2,20€

LF 04 - Doubl headed eagle and german slogan "Noch Weiter" - (also known as Plus Ultra). the two coloumns show the spanish and german crown. 2,30€

LF 05 - Fugger Flag. Represents the flag of the Family Fugger. 2,20€

LF 06 - Heraldry of Fugger Augsburg - 2,20€

LF 07 - Flag of Georg Frundsberg - 2,20€

sorry for the long time of not-posting. I have been quite busy in the last time but I'd like to tell you the next releases:

Miniatures

In the next weeks, Paul Hicks will start working on the civilians. Planned are the following blisters:

Terrain

This is an opic topic: What do you guys want to get made? I first thought about some tents that could be sold cheaply. But I am open for every guess so please let me know in the comments.

Flags

I am in cooperation with an artist who paints flags which will be printed on linen with first-class colours. So no cheap paperflags with silly shadows on! The price per flag should be very low - probably as low as their paper comrades.

First blisters for 2011 and a happy New Year

Dear blog reader and follower,

First, I want to say thank you to everyone who supported Pro Gloria with comments or criticism in 2010 and I want to wish you all a happy and great 2011!

However, I don’t only want to say thank you but I want to announce some news.
First, I will continue the work on the homepage as the blog is really untidy and confusing and does not replace any website. I will keep writing the news on the blog as well so keep an eye on it!

The second thing is, that I will try to make a PDF file as a kind of a catalogue so you can see what we are offering. This should be a short file as we only have the hackbut and the pigbearer until now!

What brings me to the third and last point: New packs! As I recently received the casted dollies I am going to send them to Paul Hicks and he’ll do the first four blisters of our civilians Range for the 16^th century. Some of the civilians should be usable for the late 15^th century as well.

I don’t want to spoil too much as it will take it time: it’s done when it’s done.

New Dollies Report

Hello everyone!

Mister Hicks was very busy in the last time and he finished 4 dollies for new Pro Gloria miniatures.
These will be copied and then arms, clothings, hats, swords and heads will be sculpted on every copy once again. So I can use the same poses, but all with different styles of clothing and equipment.

From Left to right:

Marching dolly (abit like the one from the looting Landsknecht)
Attacking dolly: Very useful for the upcoming halberdiers! I searched for pictures which explained the kind of fighting rules the Landsknecht used and then I sent the pictures to Hicks.
It's a standing one - nothing speial but good for command or upcoming civilians!
Again, a fighting/walking dolly for crossbows or halberdiers.

On this picture, the order is a bit different:
Fighting pose; Fighting pose; Standing pose and walking pose

New reports once the dollies are casted and then we just have to hope that Mr. Hicks is not the busiet man on earth or that he has 8 pair of arms.

Plus those four dollies, I still have the neeling dolly here - so expect some new packs : )

finally, I got the castings from Griffin (it was my fault with the delay so a big thank you at the guys from Griffin).
I ordered 16 duplicates, and one is just off to the very talented Andrew Taylor, so that he can paint one for me and you get a better impression of it.

The set contains 5 parts: One gun, one mounting support, one wooden plank, 2 crew.

The hackbut is priced at 7€. If you want a copy (I only have 15, don't forget!) send an E-Mail to Stephan-huber1@gmx.net. If you buy three packs, you only have to pay 18€ instead of 21€!

The postage is always the same:

2,20€ Germany wide
3,40€ for Europe
6,00€ for the rest of the World.

Please allow 2-14 days for delivery. Payment goes via PayPal or banktransfer (Germany only!).

Pre-View: The Handrifle!

Hello all together,

I am happy to show you the first pictures of the 'Handrifle' for the 16th century in europe. It's made to go along with other ranges for the Landsknechts. The pictures show the so called 'Handbüchse' (engl. handrifle), which were used against warwagons, in sieges or in open battles.

The credit for the sculpts go to Paul Hicks for the excellent crew and to Paul Cook for the fantastic gun.

But don't want to tease you - here are the pictures.

The gun will be avaible as soon as I got the castings from the caster- right at the moment we are doing the website for the company including the shop. Anyway, I am not sure about the price, but I think it will be about 6,95€ (about 6 pounds) for the gun + 2 crew, and 15€ for three guns and 6 crew.

Hi readers,

just wanted to let you know that I am still alive and that I am still working on Pro Gloria Miniatures.

Right at the moment, Paul Hicks does the crew for the finished gun, and Paul Cook does the first 11 harnesses for the horses - including the horse for 'Götz von Berlichingen', 'Maximilian I.' and heavy harnesses for gendarms and light harnesses for lanciers or mounted arkebuses! Very great news - after Paul H. has finished the crew he will do the last dollies and then the real work just begins!

Hope do post some pictures after Salute (24th April).

as I mentioned before, we are doing some interessting new artillery pieces and try to fill the gaps in the market. Paul send me these pictures and I couldn't wait to present them to you.

The Beginning of Pro Gloria Miniatures

Dear readers and visitors,

We are happy to announce our first own range of 28mm miniatures - which specialise in the 16^th century. On the whole we will do such called „Landsknechte“ (the English prefer the word „Landsknechts“, which is German and means “the men of plains”, as these were the counterpart to their Swiss opponents, which were “the men of the mountains”.), who lived in the 16^th century and started the fall of chivalry and then grounded the beginning of the infantry. We want to fill gaps in the market, and bring out some specials and non-produced individual items.

For this, we sorted out a nice name, and we dubbed our company ‘Pro Gloria Miniatures’, which is latin and means ‘For Glory miniatures’.

The miniatures are sculpted by the talented Paul Hicks and some are done (like the horses) by eBob. Terrain and bits are made by Paul Cook.

As our company is still in its infancy, we kindly ask for your patience, so that we can wait on the sculpted miniatures and also the casted ones.

We have the first packs on the stocks , and they will be the following:
